November 22, 2009 - I wrote the piece below a year ago. I had a different website created, posted (Although technical difficulties prevailed - I thought it was posted, I just never visited the site. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this caused.) Today , I sat down to create a new web site with a new direction.
Even though I have stopped writing workbooks, I have not stopped being passionate about teaching kids (and adults) about technology.
I still teach computer classes and love doing this. The other aspect is how to integrate technology easily into every aspect of education. Not just using technology for technology sake, but using technology as a tool to help kids learn more effectively.
My goal with changing the web site, it to provide a resource for teachers and homeschooling parents to easily find resources to add technology EASILY to everyday lessons.
This will also be a great exercise for me to organize all of my resources I have be collecting and I saved over several computers and notebooks - I can find what I'm looking for as well!
WORKBOOKS: For those who may have written to me about Guide to Geekdom™, I am sorry about the glitches. If you do have questions, you may still contact me at my new address on this website. The Workbooks do not work with Vista or Windows 7. However, they still work with XP and earlier. If you are still in need of a workbook, please let me know.
The Next Chapter...After several years of working with and meeting so many wonderful people, the decision to stop writing Guide to Geekdom™ Workbooks was a difficult one to make.
However, after I made it I was at peace about it. My time now is spent with my family and still working teaching computers to wonderful students.
Who knows what the future brings, maybe I'll start writing again some day, but for now I will keep the web site active and share with you some wonderful learning resources that you are out there.
Additionally, you will still be able to to find the support materials on the website needed for the HTML Workbook.
